#1 Creative Writing Workshop
Year 5 pupils at Battyeford Primary School enjoyed taking part in our creative writing workshops with Suzanne Hudson. The workshops involved children pretending to be soldiers themselves and writing to family or doing diary entries about their life in the trenches.
One pupil said: “I learnt about the people who had to survive and live through the horrible, disgusting and breathtaking war zone. I learnt that it took over 2 weeks for a letter to be sent to soldiers families. They did not have to pay to send a postcard to there families or friends. Most of them got a foot infection from all the freezing, cold, dirty and old water.”
