Gomersal- Postcard workshop

with Helen Peyton

Gomersal- Postcard workshop

The first Postkarte from the front session at Gomersal School was an inspiration. 60 children all started by investigating the postcards, looking at the design, the artwork, the writing on the back. Many were in German but luckily for us there was a German student, Nele Hartmann, working at the school and on hand to translate for the pupils.

While the pupils developed ideas and started with monoprints, I worked with all 60 on a one to one basis using the galley press to letterpress the backs of the postcards that we are using to make artworks in future sessions. The children were fascinated by the process and created beautiful work.
